Today’s destination pic is from my visit to Cappadocia, Turkey 🇹🇷 at Sultan Cave Suites; for a rooftop sunrise with a magical view!

Mesmerized, I watched as golden sunbeams highlighted Göreme’s unique topography, the Fairy chimneys and stone homes emerging from the shadows. Hot air balloons by the hundreds peacefully filled the sky that seemingly rose on the sun’s rays. A photographers dream, just steps from my hotel room, Sultan Cave Suites’ completes this picturesque experience, with its signature cushions, carpets & colourful fruit collation!

Thanks goes to Instagram for introducing Cappadocia to my radar and to my mission trip itinerary for allowing me to visit this new bucket list check a only short year later!

➡️Bring camera 📸!
➡️Bring extra batteries!
➡️Allow at least an hr for pics; backdrop changes as the sun & balloons rise
➡️Balloons don’t fly everyday. (Weather dependent). Allow a few grace days if rooftop pics or balloon flights are on your must do list!
➡️Breakfast is staged for pics. Everyone takes turns at the different vantage points. Restaurant with real food is one staircase up and opens at 6:30am.
➡️5am was a great start time in July
➡️Dress warm in winter
➡️May-November there are less balloon cancellations. We stayed 2 nights in July and one morning flights were cancelled.
