Autumn! It’s the most colourful time of year in Ontario and 2022 has blessed us with some extra beautiful weather too! With at least another week to enjoy, I thought I share my favourite 5 Fabulous Fall GTA Views for you to go and check out!

Dundas Peak, Hamilton

Dundas Peak is two incredible viewpoint lookouts at one location! Not only is it one of the GTA’s most popular fall overlooks but it is also an all season viewpoint destination too! An added bonus to your visit is seeing Tews Falls, a beautiful ribbon plunge waterfall that has two lookouts on the way up to Dundas Peak! Part of Spencer Gorge Conservation Area, reservations are now required 7 days a week to visit and there is a fee to do so. Also know as Canada’s most dangerous selfie spot you can read more about Dundas Peak here:

Info:

  • Harvest Rd, Dundas ON, L9H 5K7
  • Open 9am-5:30pm (see tips)
  • Parking is $10.50
  • Entry per person $10
  • Reservations are 2hr time slots for fall colours
  • Reservations must be made up to midnight the day before no same day bookings

Tips:

  • Gated with back entrance paths with local access
  • Although the paths are accessible 24hrs the no parking on side streets is strictly enforced

Dixie Cliffs, Pickering

One of Pickering’s best kept secrets, Dixie Cliffs showcases panoramic views that overlook Duffins Creek. Dixie Cliffs is an unofficial name for this section of the Seaton Hiking Trail and there is no official parking, making it a valued treasure for local residents and visitors alike!

Info:

  • Part of the Seaton Hiking Trail which follows Duffins Creek
  • There are several parking lots for the Seaton Hiking Trail but no official parking for this spot which is close to Dixie Rd & Concession 3

Rouge National Urban Park, Toronto

Another beautiful autumn viewpoint and great kept secret is in the The Rouge National Urban Park. Ironically despite being a very short distance from the Scarborough Twin Rivers upper parking lot, this lesser known trail and lookout is a path less travelled!

Info:

  • Located across the street from the Petar Tasic Lookout near Sheppard Ave E and Twin Rivers Drive

Rouge National Urban Park, Vista Trail

One of the Rouge National Urban Parks’ most popular photo opt stops is this lookout over the Rouge Valley and Rouge River on the Vista Trail. Thanks to the ample complimentary parking off Meadowvale Rd near the zoo, this lookout is not only beautiful but convenient too!

Info:

  • 1749 Meadowvale Rd, Scarborough, ON

Seaton Hiking Trail, Pickering

A rainbow hot spot I love this section of the Seaton Hiking Trail! I’m not really sure why rainbows are often seen here but each rainbow is a beautiful gift none the less! Thanks to the convenience of a nearby Seaton Hiking Trail Parking Lot off Taunton Rd, this section is yet another popular overlook!
