It’s that time of year again Toronto! Changing weather and changing leaves! It’s the perfect time to get outside and have some photo opt fun and what better place to do it than in the unique outdoor setting of a pool of floating cranberries!? That’s right the Cranberry Plunge in Muskoka is back and here’s what you need to know!

Why Cranberries?

Cranberries are synonymous with Thanksgiving, which is no surprise considering they are native exclusively to North America and are harvest in the fall! This is a pretty cool fact for Canadians and as a result Bala Ontario has been hosting an annual Cranberry Festival since 1984!

Where is The Cranberry Plunge?

Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery is just 7 mins from Bala and this is where your 30 mins cranberry plunge awaits! Advance reservations are mandatory as this is the Johnstons farm’s most popular activity! The farm is also a working, 3rd generation family owned cranberry farm, so every visit will be slightly different!

The Cranberry Plunge Experience!

The Cranberry Plunge takes place about 10-15 mins from the farms entrance, located down a steep uneven gravel hill. Once at the cranberry pool staff will give you a pair of hip waiters that are one size fits all. You can then use the changing tents and benches for your convenience! Now you’re all set to wade in and have fun! Take care as you manoeuvre as the cranberry pool floor is uneven! A change of socks is recommended – just in case 🙃!
