Tis the season for twinkling lights and giving and The Oshawa Centre is offering both in their brand new pop-up that opened yesterday! This new, one-of-a-kind immersive planetarium experience is in support of Lakeridge Health’s Cancer Care Centre. And Durham’s largest mall is inviting one and all to come check out A Sky Full of Stars in Oshawa!

What to expect?

Guests can reserve their seat by scanning the onsite QR code. However online reservations are recommended as each outer space adventure is limited to 8 “passengers”. Upon arrival guests receive their boarding pass that allows them access to an intergalactic journey! Blast out of earths atmosphere and take in the celestial immersive views around you. After an enjoyable voyage through space, guests will be called by name to step up and push a large button. This action initiates the explosion that creates their very own personalized star. Guests can reserve their spots with $10 or $20 donations which then create smaller and larger stars respectively. Each persons star and name remains in the sky through the entirety of the exhibit, so as donations increase so does a sky full of stars in Oshawa!

Why is it taking place?

A great date, family or friend outing this experience is one you won’t want to miss! It is a unique outing opportunity! Not only that, it’s has a warm and fuzzy side too! This is because 100% of the proceeds are being donated to Lakeridge Health’s Cancer Care Centre! Better still, Sue and Bob Verwey have pledged to match all public donations dollar for dollar up to 1 million dollars! The goal is to acquire The da Vinci surgical robot, a medical arm that will assist with procedures, reducing complications, infections and more!
